Anything you want, you can find in Marin County. There are large department and discount stores, small boutiques, and lots of specialty stores. Marin County has four major shopping malls Corte Madera Town Center, The Village at Corte Madera, The Mall at Northgate, and Vintage Oaks), a few smaller regional malls, and cities with outstanding shopping opportunities. | Located on the west side on Highway 101, this outdoor mall is landscaped with lots of trees and colorful shrubbery and has a cobblestone pathway that winds along the fronts of the stores and restaurants. Once a week, the Town Center hosts the Farmer's Market. The mall's center has a beautiful tiled water fountain surrounded by tables and chairs for the nearby restaurants. |

| On the east side of Highway 101, the Village Mall houses over 80 upscale, big-name shops and restaurants. Like the Town Center, this mall has a park-like outdoor setting with trees and colorful plants surrounding the stores and restaurants. |

| On Highway 101 to the east, but still in Mill Valley, there is a small shopping center called Strawberry Village This outdoor mall has 60 shops, most of them owner-operated. |

| Northgate is a large, enclosed mall opened in 1965 and offers over 100 specialty and department stores, including Macy’s, Sears and Mervyn’s. This is the county’s oldest mall and is located in Terra Linda/San Rafael. |

| Built in 1994, Vintage Oaks (aka Rowland Shopping Center) is the largest and the newest mall in Marin. Located in Novato, the utilitarian Vintage Oaks has 50 merchants and focuses on large discounters like Target, Costo, Ross Dress for Less. |
